“The hardest thing to learn in life is which bridge to cross and which to burn”. – David Russell
So yeah, it is so hard to choose what to do and where, when you have plenty of options that are good and could bring excellent things to your life (personal and professional speaking). It it even harder when the options you have in front of you are so different from each other yet exciting and life changing and, no matter which one you choose, you know that you´ll be satisfied at the end of the road. As one friend told me not so long ago “it is better to have several opportunities knocking at your door than none”.
But I am thorn between excitement and fear because finally the news that I wanted to hear came, but I don´t want to regret any decision I make. Although I´ve never regretted any decision I´ve made so far; that´s another story, though.
Yesterday someone asked me: “is that what you want?” and I couldn´t answer straight to his question, I hesitated. Does it mean that I don´t know what I want, or that I am just analysing my options? After just a moment my answer was “Yes! It is so what I want”. And as Davis Russell, I am preparing myself to burn one of the bridges, and go through one path full of new experiences and new challenges; a path that will bring the change that I so need in my life now.
So, hopefully I will be wise enough to decide where to go, which “bridge” to cross and to make the best out of it. I don´t want to plant my dreams in the field of indecision, where nothing ever grows but the weeds of “what-if”.
