Today is the first rainy day in weeks. It is overcast and very windy, but not very cold. Some people say that this has been the driest and more gentle Winter in years, and that I am very lucky to have experienced that in my frist year in the Netherlands. Yes! We had a bloody cold “Siberian” winter not so long ago, but after that milder temperatures and some sunlight took over our days again. Anyways, all of this is soon to be over!
While riding my bike from my friend Janset’s house to my place a sunday morning, I saw what not so many people used to see; or, better, they DO see but they are too busy to appreciate small gifts from nature, like tiny flowers blooming here and there. But, as they are so small and delicate, people usually don’t stop to contemplate and analyze the wonders of Mother Nature‘s message saying “Hey, Spring is around the corner”.
But well, I always like to think that there are nature enthusiasts that, like me, get really happy to know that in just three weeks Winter will be over and Spring will come to splash our lives with bright colors and happiness!
