… When someone is invited to have dinner at your place, and you expect that person at a certain moment, and you prepare a wonderful meal (for three people, but still wonderful) with tapas, wine and dessert; and after a moment you realize that that person is a little bit late, but the you look at the clock again and is over 40 minutes late! And that person doesn’t come. No calls, no messages, no e-mails, nothing! Maybe she was ill, or in an accident, or maybe she was having a good time with friends, perhaps she was too tired and fell asleep… She should have called and let us know. No excuses!
Sounds familiar? Well, that’s what happened to Mario and me last night. There was this lady that was supposed to come on yesterday at 20:00h to have dinner with us and talk about business with Mario (she had already moved our dinner from Monday to Wednesday). She choose the new meeting day and her expected arrival time. I after dealing with the thesis, I went to the grocery store and buy the ingredients for:
1. Ricotta and spinach Cannelloni
2. Caprese Salad with fresh Basil
3. Black olives, nuts and green olives Tapenade
4. Home made pastries with wine and blackberry sauce
5. Nice Spanish wine
I must say that it looked delicious and tasted delicious; and she choose not to show up. I was disappointed for a moment because I spent a couple of hours planning and cooking. Well, I guess is her loss. At the end of the day, she showed us how unreliable she can be and she didn’t enjoy the fantastic dinner I made. Oh well…! I can’t believe that we are going to eat Cannelloni et al for the next couple of days.
Have you ever been in a situation like mine? How was it and how did you feel about it?
